This season hasn't been kind to The Franklin County Seahawks, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of Port St. Joe. Franklin County has struggled against Port St. Joe recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Port St. Joe found their leader in underclassman Corban Butts, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. Devin Cuttino was another key contributor, throwing for 86 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Franklin County's defeat was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.5 points per game. As for Port St. Joe, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Wewahitchka at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Port St. Joe, they will head out on the road to face off against Sneads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sneads is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
