The Farragut Admirals will face off against the Chicago Academy Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Farragut put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They blew past Steinmetz College Prep 25-1. The Admirals haven't had any issues with the Silver Streaks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ben DeMateo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Farragut is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. DeMateo was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Yoel Guerra was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert DeMateo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Farragut was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Chicago Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 13-10 to Westinghouse.
Like Farragut, Chicago Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Josh Casillas. He struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Casillas was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
In other batting news, Alessandro Vera was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Glover, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Farragut's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Chicago Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Chicago Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Farragut hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. It's a different story for Chicago Academy, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Farragut's hitters?
Everything went Farragut's way against Chicago Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Farragut made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Admirals repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
