Immanuel is a perfect 3-0 against Sierra Pacific since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Golden Bears at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Immanuel sitting on five straight victories and Sierra Pacific on three.
Immanuel took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Kingsburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings on Friday, sneaking past 4-2.
Amanda Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Natalia Delgadillo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Sierra Pacific made easy work of Washington Union on Friday and carried off an 18-6 win.
Brooklyn Webb was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sierra Pacific was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Immanuel's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Sierra Pacific's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Immanuel has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sierra Pacific, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Immanuel keep running through batters, or will the Golden Bears buck the trend?
Immanuel skirted past Sierra Pacific 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
