If the Baptist Hill Bobcats were riding high off their 103-16 takedown of the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Baptist Hill fell just short of Military Magnet Academy by a score of 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Baptist Hill has suffered yet this season.
Baptist Hill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rickey Middleton Jr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Jaden Douglas who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Middleton Jr is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Porter, who scored six points.
Baptist Hill has fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 3-7. As for Military Magnet Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
Baptist Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Charleston Math & Science at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Charleston Math & Science is ranked 200th, while Baptist Hill is ranked 204th). As for Military Magnet Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cross at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
