The Western Hills Cougars fell victim to the Kennedale Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Hills in their matchups with Kennedale: they've now lost six in a row.
Kyu Wilson threw for 52 yards on two of ten attempts. Kaream Williams was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, EJ Jones rushed for 52 yards.
Laurrence Watkins was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Daunte Scott got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Western Hills now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Kennedale, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Western Hills will look to defend their home field on November 4th against Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 11:00 a.m. Diamond Hill-Jarvis is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Kennedale, they will head out on the road to face off against Dunbar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
