It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Calumet New Tech Warriors can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Trojans on Tuesday, falling 52-10. The defeat means Calumet New Tech is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Highland was led to victory by Aaliyah Keil and Jordan Steele. Keil almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals, while Steele scored 19 points along with five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Steele has scored at least a third of Highland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Ballard, who scored 12 points.
Calumet New Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Calumet New Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Highland will square off against the Ingots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. River Forest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
