The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 37-15 loss at the hands of Kiowa. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Miami-Yoder has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Miami-Yoder lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kylie McKnight. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with three blocks.
Kiowa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paola Vidales, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Vidales has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Perreault, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Miami-Yoder dropped their record down to 5-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Kiowa, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Miami-Yoder and Calhan will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Calhan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Monday. As for Kiowa, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Dayspring Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
