Basketball Recap: Chatham Central Find Success

While Chatham Central has struggled on the road with four straight losses, that wasn't the case on Wednesday thanks to Karaleigh Dodson. The Chatham Central Bears blew past the South Davidson Wildcats 61-37 thanks in part to Dodson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Underwood, who posted a point in addition to eight assists and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Chatham Central's record now sits at 12-6. As for South Davidson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatham Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Davidson has already played their next contest (against East Davidson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
