Basketball Recap: Jaylen Wynn Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Peninsula Catholic saw some tournament action on Friday. They took down the Pinewood Prep Panthers 68-52.

Peninsula Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Wynn, who posted 19 points. The contest was Wynn's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyon McClone, who put up 17 points.

Peninsula Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Pinewood Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Peninsula Catholic and Pinewood Prep will both be playing Summerville the next time they take the court. Peninsula Catholic will head out to face Summerville at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Pinewood Prep will head out to face them at 7:40 p.m. on Monday.
