Baseball Recap: Draper APA Wins Going Away Against Merit Preparatory Academy

While Draper APA put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Merit Preparatory Academy. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Knights. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Coleman Mitchel was excellent, earning two RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Draper APA's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Draper APA and bumps their season record up to 7-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Merit Preparatory Academy and 0-8 Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
