The Iowa Colony Pioneers will be home for the holidays to greet the Ball Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Iowa Colony's 28-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They had to suffer through a rough 85-58 loss at the hands of Klein Forest.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Daylon Dalcour, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Brown, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Ball has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Santa Fe 76-52. Given Ball's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Santa Fe is ranked 740th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Iowa Colony's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Ball, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.
Iowa Colony might still be hurting after the 60-36 defeat they got from Ball in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Iowa Colony have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
