North Moore lost to Chatham Central at home by a decisive 71-57 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, North Moore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Chatham Central is ranked 214th).
When it comes to explaining why North Moore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colby Pennington. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. Pennington is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Michael Copeland was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
North Moore has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Chatham Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
North Moore will head out on the road to square off against Northwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chatham Central, they will be playing at home against Southeast Alamance at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
