JD HERNANDEZ and JALIN BURRELL provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Moreno Valley. The connection went for 55 yards, the longest such play in River Valley this season.
The Vikings' Taliuaki Suliafu recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Patriot last week. Suliafu ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 238 on the day as his team bested the Warriors.
Patriot's dynamic duo of HERNANDEZ and BURRELL proved tough for Ted Wadkins' team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. HERNANDEZ threw for 125 yards and one touchdown and BURRELL had 125 yards receiving.
Jonathan McCoy was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 34 carries, he ran for 290 yards as La Sierra fell to the Vikings. Dereck Cruz also contributed to the rushing game with 78 yards on the ground.
6-foot-4 quarterback Damon Mayes of Ramona is the league leader in passing yards this season with 974. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Warriors' HERNANDEZ has rushed for 688 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Miguel Antolino. The La Sierra star has 25 catches for 363 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moreno Valley takes on the Eagles. At the moment, the Vikings are in first, while La Sierra is in third.
Norte Vista moved up to 453 from 479 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Braves climbed the ranks as a result of topping Jurupa Valley 35-7.
