It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lawrence North Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Fighting Irish, posting a 76-34 win on the road. Lawrence North has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jamaya Thomas, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamara Mills, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Cathedral still got an impressive performance from Taylor Lewis, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 38.2% of Cathedral's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Abby Beasley, who scored seven points.
The win makes it two in a row for Lawrence North and bumps their season record up to 18-5. As for Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
Lawrence North will square off against the Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence Central will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak. Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
