On Friday, The Orcutt Academy Spartans faced the Fresno Christian Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Orcutt Academy lost to Fresno Christian on the road by a decisive 42-24 margin. Orcutt Academy's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fresno Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Stotts, who threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Stotts is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last nine games he's played. Fresno Christian also got help from Joshua Kubota who showed off his sure hands for 147 receiving yards.
Fresno Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Angel DeLeon and his three sacks.
Orcutt Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Fresno Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
