The Geneva Panthers entered their tilt with the Samson Tigers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Geneva enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over Samson on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Geneva, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Geneva's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Ward, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was RayAnna Ausley, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Geneva's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Samson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva and Opp will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Opp comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Samson, they will head out on the road to face off against Slocomb at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Slocomb comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
