Jenison is 2-8 against Caledonia since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jenison Wildcats will be playing at home against the Caledonia Fighting Scots at 6:00 p.m. Jenison is out to stop a 14-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Jenison suffered a tough 60-36 loss at the hands of Grandville. While losing is never fun, Jenison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Grandville is ranked 26th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Caledonia, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-45 loss to Hudsonville on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caledonia in their matchups with Hudsonville: they've now lost four in a row.
Kyan Vanderwoude put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jaiden Googins was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jenison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Caledonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
