It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the University Titans can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 80-19 loss at the hands of the Wolf Pack. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while West Port is ranked 130th).
When it comes to explaining why University lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Alexis Hall. Despite the final result, she scored ten points.
Leanna Pabst continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Port, scoring 17 points along with eight steals. Pabst has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Caniyah Graham was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
University's defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-19. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.8 points per game. As for West Port, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.
University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Port, they will head out on the road to take on Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully West Port focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.
