Morris and the Wildcats are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Morris Redskins will be playing at home against the Wilmington Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Morris has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Morris scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 74-61 win over Yorkville Christian. Given Morris' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Mustangs are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Wilmington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-44 to Peotone.
Morris' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-9. As for Wilmington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Morris against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 59-26 win. Does Morris have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
