Softball Recap: Oneonta Gets the Win

Oneonta won against Pennington on Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Redskins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Jacksonville Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Redskins have posted since March 21st.

Aleigha Rhetta was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Oneonta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Oneonta's record now sits at 13-18. As for Jacksonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oneonta will take on Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redskins will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Jacksonville, they will square off against Munford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
