Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Myrtle Beach walked away with it. Everything went their way against May River on Friday as Myrtle Beach made off with a 40-14 win. The result was nothing new for Myrtle Beach, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Irmo got themselves on the board against Colleton County on Friday, but Colleton County never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 85-0 win over the Cougars at home. The result was nothing new for Irmo, who have now won ten matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.
Irmo relied on the efforts of Jaden Allen-hendrix, who gained 185 total yards and four touchdowns, and Aaron (AJ) Brand Jr., who threw for 277 yards and six touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. Brand Jr. is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Irmo also got help from Donovan Murph who showed off his sure hands for 102 receiving yards.
Myrtle Beach's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Irmo, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
