The Troy Christian Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Twin Valley South by a score of 65-54. The win was just what Troy Christian needed coming off of a 68-40 loss in their prior game.
It was another big night for Brooklyn Lavy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Reign Wilkins, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Despite the defeat, Twin Valley South saw an underclassman step up: Kelsie Maggard scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. It was the first time this season that Maggard scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Ritchie, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Twin Valley South were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Troy Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Twin Valley South, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Troy Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Graham Local is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Twin Valley South, they will challenge the Mohawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Ohio (the Mohawks are ranked 247th, while the Panthers are ranked 777th).
