The Oakcrest Chargers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 43-14 victory over St. James on the road. The win was just what Oakcrest needed coming off of a 63-23 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Oakcrest to victory were Catherine Dunch and Mary Mehan. Dunch dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals, while Mehan dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. Mehan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Newsome, who scored 8 points along with 5 steals.
Oakcrest's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for St. James, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Oakcrest will head out on the road to face off against Madeira on Saturday. As for St. James, they will take on Evergreen Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
