The Stuart W. Cramer Storm suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 82-51 loss at the hands of Crest. While losing is never fun, Stuart W. Cramer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Crest is ranked 41st).
Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer had strong showings from Taelan Whitley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Gavin Jordan, who scored 17 points. Amari Littlejohn was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Crest found their leader in underclassman "King" Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Rhodes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was D'various Surratt, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Stuart W. Cramer's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Crest, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Stuart W. Cramer and Huss will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Crest, they will head out on the road to challenge South Point at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Point knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Crest likes a good challenge.
