Amsterdam hasn't had much luck against Glens Falls recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will host the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Amsterdam is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Amsterdam made easy work of Gloversville and carried off a 12-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won four in a row.

Leila Brooks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lucca Fiorillo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Keller, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Amsterdam was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gloversville only posted a batting average of .321.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Glens Falls nor South Glens Falls made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Indians fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.
Glens Falls' loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Amsterdam, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Amsterdam has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glens Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Amsterdam might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Glens Falls when the teams last played back in April. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
