St. Charles Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 7 this week by beating Port Allen, 35-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
St. Charles Catholic took down the Pelicans 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
D'Kwan Sandolph and D'Kwan Sandolph gave St. James a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Sandolph threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns, while Sandolph ran for 130 yards. Teammate Javan Roussel added to the ground attack by rushing for 14 yards.
Leondre James provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Donaldsonville lost to White. He completed 22 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 119 yards. James' favorite target this week was Stephen Sullivan, who caught 11 passes for 83 yards.
Donaldsonville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. James has thrown for 1352 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Sullivan has 55 catches for 555 yards. James also leads the league in rushing with 328 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Brusly takes on Frank Monica's team. The Panthers are currently in second, while the Comets are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Brusly takes on St. Charles Catholic. Tait Dupont's team has allowed 136 points this season, while the Comets have given up 74. The Panthers allowed 22 points last week as they bested the Wildcats.
Brusly made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,973 from 2,748. The advance stemmed from a 55-22 victory over St. James last week.
