It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Mooresville Pioneers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 53-47 W over Plainfield. The victory was nothing new for Mooresville as they're now sitting on three straight.
Rachel Harshman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Hardy, who scored seven points.
Plainfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Berkeley Williams, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Menser, who scored 12 points.
Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Plainfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mooresville will take on Terre Haute South Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Terre Haute South Vigo has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Plainfield, they will be playing at home against Decatur Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
