The Citrus Hill Hawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Santa Rosa Academy 63-32 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-12.
Citrus Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kason Steward led the charge by scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Kannon Steward was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Citrus Hill is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Citrus Hill is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Tahquitz at 5:30 p.m. on January 9th. Tahquitz and Citrus Hill are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nuview Bridge at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Nuview Bridge comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
