* After defeating previously top-ranked Fairfield Prep 3-2 in overtime last week and taking over the No. 1 spot in the state's boys hockey poll, Hamden promptly dropped a 4-3 SCC decision to No. 6 Xavier (Middletown), falling behind 4-0 before scoring.

* Notre Dame (West Haven) knocked off previously unbeaten and No. 7 Fairfield Prep in a 68-60 SCC Quinnipiac boys basketball overtime victory.

* Kyle Nolan, Branford: Scored 22 points and had 15 rebounds in a 63-50 SCC interdivision victory over West Haven.

* Oscar Assie, St. Joseph (Trumbull): Scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds in a 79-57 FCIAC victory over Bridgeport Central.

* Bernard Brantley, Stratford: Scored 25 points and made six steals and three assists in a 65-50 SWC victory over Newtown.

* Chad Graham, Fitch (Groton): Scored 18 points and had nine rebounds and eight assists in a 57-45 victory over Waterford.

* Yahmad Rountree, Woodland (Beacon Falls): Had 24 points and 22 rebounds in a 69-55 NVL victory over Seymour.

* Aaliyah Robinson, Wilbur Cross (New Haven): Scored 28 points in a 60-55 SCC interdivision victory over Hamden.

* Ashley Wheeler, Stonington: Had 19 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-61 ECC victory over Griswold.

* Andreana Thomas, Hillhouse (New Haven): Had 24 points and 10 assists in a 71-45 SCC victory over Wilbur Cross (New Haven).

Boys hockey
* Brandon Martone, Notre Dame (West Haven): Scored hat trick in 4-0 victory over Notre Dame (Fairfield).
