The Premier Prep- PHHoenix Fire can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over East Valley Athletes for Christ. The victory was all the more spectacular given Premier Prep- PHHoenix's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Eagles are ranked 43rd).
Jonathan Miller and Landen Marker certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Miller scored 12 points along with four steals, while Marker dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb McAvoy, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Premier Prep- PHHoenix's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-21. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Premier Prep- PHHoenix will take on the Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
