The Highland Rams will square off against the Pocatello Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Highland came out on top against Thunder Ridge on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Rams took their matchup against the Titans 8-4.
Mason Payne was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Eddie, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Pocatello didn't have quite enough to beat Rigby on Wednesday and fell 5-3. That's two games in a row now that the Thunder have lost by exactly two runs.
Pocatello saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KACHE STUCKI, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The Thunder are 5-1 when STUCKI posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-14 otherwise.
Highland pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Pocatello, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-15.
Pocatello's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Pocatello, though, as they've only averaged .219. Will they be able to contain Highland's hitters?
Everything went Highland's way against Pocatello in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Highland made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
