Basketball Recap: Thomas Cole Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Flanagan

McArthur won the last time they faced Flanagan and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McArthur Mustangs came out on top against the Flanagan Falcons by a score of 58-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

McArthur got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Cole out in front who posted 19 points. Joshua Barber was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

McArthur smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Flanagan still got an impressive performance from Jason Carias, who put up 26 points. Carias' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was AJ Forges, who had nine points.

McArthur's record is now 4-6. As for Flanagan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

McArthur didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-57 defeat against Gulf Coast on the 27th. As for Flanagan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-46 loss against Stoneman Douglas on the 19th.
