Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, West Point made sure to put some runs up on the board against King & Queen Central on Thursday. The Pointers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Royal Tigers a 17-0 shutout. With that victory, the Pointers brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Terrah Henrich tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Delaney White was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Haley Spradlin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
West Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
West Point has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Colonial Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Colonial Beach has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .497. However, it's not like West Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .524. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
