Volleyball Recap: Deshler's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Deshler's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Russellville Golden Tigers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Deshler ultimately came up short, they really made Russellville work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-21.

Olivia Adams paced Deshler's offense, picking up 12 kills. Adams got some help from Makayla Willingham and her 17 assists.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Russellville, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Russellville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against East Lawrence on the 25th. Hopefully Deshler paid attention to the Golden Tigers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Golden Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
