The Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers were the 64-52 winner over the Delaware County Christian Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Marple Newtown fell 53-40 to Delaware County Christian on Wednesday. Marple Newtown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Delaware County Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beau Lyren, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Khamai Orange, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Marple Newtown's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Delaware County Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marple Newtown will face off against Conestoga at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conestoga will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Delaware County Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Plumstead Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Plumstead Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while Delaware County Christian is ranked 145th).
