Cedarcrest is a perfect 6-0 against Evergreen since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Red Wolves will challenge the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cedarcrest has six straight victories, Evergreen has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Evergreen's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Cedarcrest hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Red Wolves put the hurt on Renton with a sharp 20-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Smith and Jake Polacek were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Polacek struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Smith has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Polacek went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Polacek a new career-high.
In other batting news, Reed Gilmore was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Liam DelCarmen was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Cedarcrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .553. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Evergreen might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Lindbergh who claimed the real prize. The Wolverines came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-5.
Evergreen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilder Amechazurra, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Amechazurra has become a key player for the Wolverines: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8-1 otherwise.
Cedarcrest's record now sits at 13-3. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1.
Evergreen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cedarcrest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. It's a different story for Evergreen, though, as they've only averaged .215. Will they be able to contain Cedarcrest's hitters?
Cedarcrest got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Evergreen by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
