Baseball Recap: Fletcher Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Fletcher had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Stanton Blue Devils. The Senators not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th.

Gabe Hernandez was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Hobie Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fletcher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton only posted an OBP of .227.

Fletcher's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Stanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Fletcher will take on Ponte Vedra at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stanton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mandarin at 3:00 p.m.
