Olympia had lost four games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 10-14 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

For Deer Creek-Mackinaw's part, Shane Correll was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Drew Swadinsky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Looking ahead, Olympia will take on Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will square off against Princeville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Princes will have lost three straight heading into Friday's match.
