The American Collegiate Academy Rough Riders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of IMG Academy Black. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tristan Townsend and Marcus Green certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Townsend scored 24 points along with four steals, while Green scored 20 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Green posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Xavien Edmonds, who scored seven points along with two steals.
American Collegiate Academy dropped their record down to 11-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for IMG Academy Black, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
American Collegiate Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. As for IMG Academy Black, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Winthrop College Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
