Satellite hasn't had much luck against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Scorpions will challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Satellite is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Satellite will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Merritt Island Christian on Tuesday. The Scorpions never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Scorpions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Mallory Hines made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Hines was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Karalyn Webb was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigal Scaglione, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
Satellite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to Space Coast. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Vipers since March 20, 2018.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Satellite, their record is now 11-6.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Satellite has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .505. It's a different story for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, though, as they've only averaged .299. Will they be able to contain Satellite's hitters?
Satellite might still be hurting after the 14-2 loss they got from Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can the Scorpions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
