The Richland Rangers will head out to face off against the Lawrence County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Richland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-6 win over McComb on Tuesday.
Tucker Evans and Christopher Bobbitt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Evans struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Bobbitt pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Richland is 2-1 when Evans allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate, Evans got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, while Bobbitt scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Evans has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Bryce Shows was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tanner Coleman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Raymond 10-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Josh Sandifer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Case, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Lawrence County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Richland's record is now 4-6. As for Lawrence County, their record is now 5-8.
Everything went Richland's way against Lawrence County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Richland made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
