This season hasn't been kind to the Benjamin Russell Wildcats, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were outmatched by Auburn on the road and fell 75-32. While losing is never fun, Benjamin Russell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Auburn is ranked 49th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Syriah Daniels, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Daniels' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Hallman, who scored 19 points along with 5 steals.
The last time Benjamin Russell won on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benjamin Russell is on the road again on Friday and play against Central of Coosa County at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Central of Coosa County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Auburn, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenforest at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenforest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
