On Thursday, the Monroe Redhawks's game was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against West Stanly by a score of 50-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Monroe also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Monroe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryson Simpkins out in front who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Kaegan Chambers, who scored 14 points.
Monroe now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Stanly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Monroe will head out on the road to take on Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Monroe likes a good challenge. As for West Stanly, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. Forest Hills is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
