Mansfield has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Greenwood Blue Jays at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Mansfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Mansfield pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 84-63 loss at the hands of Mountain Grove. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mansfield has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Greenwood put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They slipped by Plattsburg 65-64. Given Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Plattsburg is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mansfield's loss ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1. As for Greenwood, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Mansfield beat Greenwood 58-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Mansfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
