Softball Recap: Kennedy Has No Trouble Against Brooks

Kennedy's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Brooks Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Ilanni Reyes tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Kennedy got a massive performance out of Emma Jimenez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Sofia Buzos, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Brooks, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Brooks will square off against Chicago Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles faces off against the Patriots, they'll take on Kennedy again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
