The Locust Grove Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Oologah Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Locust Grove will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Locust Grove scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Catoosa 70-34 at home. Given Locust Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Catoosa is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Oologah strolled past Miami with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-30.
Locust Grove pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Oologah, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Locust Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Oologah in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 66-59. Does Locust Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oologah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
