This season hasn't been kind to The West Adams Panthers, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were outmatched by Dr. Maya Angelou Community on the road and fell 55-0. West Adams has struggled against Dr. Maya Angelou Community recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Branden Morales was his usual excellent self, rushing for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Mendoza, who threw for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Another reason for the win was Dr. Maya Angelou Community's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Oswaldo Jimenez and his two sacks.
West Adams' defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.8 points per game. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
West Adams does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dr. Maya Angelou Community will be playing at home against Sylmar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
