The Foley Lions's 13-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Monday. They secured a 63-58 W over Navarre. That 63-58 margin sets a new team best for Foley this season.
Ty Hunter was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Adams, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Darius Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Cunningham's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Hobbs was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Even though they lost, Navarre were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Foley's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-12. As for Navarre, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foley will take on Saraland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Navarre, they will play host again and welcome Fort Walton Beach, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Walton Beach is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
