Even though the Great Falls Red Devils scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Hartsville Red Foxes still came out on top. Hartsville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 victory over Great Falls. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hartsville.
Hartsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EJ Smith, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Kayson Dawson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Hartsville's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Great Falls, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Hartsville and Manning will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Manning focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday. Great Falls will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Buford at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
