The Floodwood Polar Bears had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost to Cromwell on the road by a decisive 47-31 margin. Floodwood lost against Cromwell in their previous head to head back in March, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-24 score last time.
Cromwell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Gronner, who scored 15 points. Jill Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Floodwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cromwell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Floodwood will be playing at home against Cherry at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cromwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Barnum at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
